With Bells On!
My Living, Breathing Op-Ed
Opinions are editorials. They are not news. One can have one's own opinions; one might even have one's own personal truths, but one may not have one's own set of facts. Any conclusions need to be first researched, based on reasoned information and backed by more than hearsay and desire.
I want Uncle Walter back, Huntley and Brinkley, Murrow, Callaway, McNeil, Lehrer, Mudd, Russert, and Buckley. I want news before it became a profit centre before it was melded into the entertainment division. I want probity without pap and facts instead of alternate "truth" or fallacy. I want honesty in reporting and journalism instead of pretty faces, legs, and talking heads. I want knowledgeable speakers instead of pundits.
I just want Truth. I don't want opinions. I don't want fallacies I want a return of the Fairness Doctrine and getting rid of Corporations owning the industry and blocking information
I believe that although there are always at least two sides to a story, that frequently there are better views on the third or fourth side. We are told we need to live in the blacks and whites, good and evil, Right and Left, but I reject that. I live in the grey areas, between the piano keys, on the side of Uncommon Sense, of Empathy, Compassion, and Pragmatism.
Trust me; you don’t want me on your jury.
